Welcome to our August edition of the View Point. July was a very eventful month for all of us here at West View. Our concert and cookouts were well attended and the music performed by Jeannine D’Angelo was wonderful as always.
We were also privileged to receive a site visit as a candidate for a Baldridge Gold Award. The team visited on the 19th and 20th and they conveyed to us how impressed they were with the facility and particularly the staff . This is a very competitive and complicated process. We have been told the team will reconvene in Washington D.C. in August to present their findings to a panel of judges who will decide if we will or won’t be awarded a Gold. I have to tell you win or not, I am very proud of our staff and the care they deliver everyday. They are our GOLD award everyday.
I must share news of a change in our Senior Leadership. Sue Hawley, our Director of Quality Improvement, is leaving us to take on a new challenge as a Director of Nurses in a nearby facility. Sue has been instrumental in our growth, as a quality facility over the last seven years and she will be missed. We wish her good luck as she takes on this new challenge.
